One of the most significant areas in technology today is Artificial Intelligence. Last year during an interview on driverless cars, the person being interviewed commented that if driverless cars were compared to the airline industry, the today's driverless cars were equivalent to about a 1930s aircraft. AI is everywhere these days - robots, thermostats not to mention how much is being embedded into the Internet of Things (IoT).
If AI still has a lot of maturing to do, then why would a premier who says the province is open for business go and cut investment by billions of dollars for such a strategically potential industry - what was Ford thinking (forgive me, that was a momentary lapse - clearly he was not thinking!). Then again, I guess someone whose business has been deco labels and the potential of AI to make such a business redundant, Ontario isn't open for all business - only those businesses that keep us in the 20th century and not the 21st century or beyond.
